Kajraare (2010) Songs

Kajraare justifies the faith that one had in Reshammiya as a composer (as well as a singer). A complete affair, Kajraare gives a listener a lot to chew upon and Reshammiya ensures that there is a mix of class and mass in the seven songs. Since his last two films haven't done well, the entire perception about him as a total performer has been challenged in the last couple of years. However, there may just be a surprise in store if the film turns out to be as good as the music here. With audience being exposed to newer music during last couple of years, there is a bit of ground that Reshammiya may have to cover all over again. However, once audience give Kajraare a hearing, it should be back to old times for Reshammiya with the music scaling heights all over again.

EMI 2008

EMI is a film by Saurabh Kabra and stars Sanjay Dutt once again as a Bhai called Sattar. EMI also stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Malaika Arora, Ashish Chowdhry, Anil Sharma, Neha Uberoi, Urmila Matondkar and Manoj Joshi. It was rleased back in November and hasn't received as many good reviews.

Music of EMI is composed by Chirantan Bhatt. I really like the song Chori Chori Dekhe Mujhko, and there are a couple of other nice songs too in this album. Enjoy!

According to Prakash Jha, the story of young people venturing into politics is the film’s selling point. “Running parallel is a great emotional story of a family caught in the cesspool of politics,” he adds.

Reported to be an adaptation of the Mahabharata, the film is a family drama set against the backdrop of central India’s politics. My Name is Khan (2010) Songs

Contrary to popular misconception, Karan Johar's music hasn't stuck on to the world of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. It has continued to evolve and though it's hard to ignore the romantic breeze evidenced in his films, the fact is that he has in fact strived to be different, though not completely but at least partially, in each of his outings. However, in My Name Is Khan, he along with Shankar Ehsaan Loy and lyricist Niranjan Iyengar have brought not a partial but a substantial difference to the way music in his films is being looked at. Doing something like this was always meant to be a calculated since music as heard in My Name Is Khan doesn't belong to the kind that results in blockbuster sales. However, given the fact that the film boasts of who-is-who of the film and music world, has a guaranteed chartbuster in the form of 'Sajda', comes with a huge curiosity value and overall boasts of a quality feel to it, it is bound to become further popular after the release.

When singers like Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Shankar Mahadevan and Richa Sharma come together, you know for sure that there is a quality outing in the offing. This is what one gets from 'Sajda', a qawalli, which boasts of some intoxicating rhythm and comes so quickly on your lips that just one listening and you can already hear yourself humming it around. It is amazing to see Rahat Fateh Ali Khan delivering a chartbuster track practically every second month and this New Year couldn't see a better outing than 'Sajda' which maintains an Indian quality to it throughout it's duration. Boasting of a timeless appeal to it, 'Sajda' is a kind of number that is not dependant upon the movie for which it has been composed and promises to play on for many more months to come.

Prince (2010) Songs

Even though Chirantan Bhatt holds centre stage for majority of the album (with as many as four songs), it is Nazam Sheraz who kick starts the proceedings for Shaapit as a composer, lyricist and singer. If you had liked 'Vaada...Tumse Hai Vaada' from Vikram Bhatt's last outing '1920', chances are you won't mind listening to 'Tere Bina'. A love song with a sense of sadness, loneliness and longing to it, 'Tere Bina' is a haunting track which can be expected to arrive at multiple junctures in Shaapit. The song doesn't belong to the chartbuster variety but if in mood for a soft outing with lights switched off; 'Tere Bina' does come in handy.

From this point on Chirantan Bhatt and Sameer take over the proceedings. To go with the title and situation of the song, 'Ajnabi Hawaayein' has a whiff of air brought alive at the very opening moment. Shreya Ghoshal gets into the 'Gumnaam Hai Koyi' mode for this quintessential 'bhatakti aatma' song which is just perfect for the kind of situation one can expect in the film. There is an element of horror and love interspersed with each other in 'Ajnabi Hawaayein' which automatically transports a listener to a 'veeran jungle' with a haunted house somewhere in the background. Strictly situational!

Even though the music of Shaapit doesn't quite go all the way in meeting the good expectations that one had from it, there aren't any songs that are a turn off either. Yes, mind-blowing chartbusters are missing in this Chirantan Bhatt album but still at least a couple of songs like 'Chaahata Dil Tumko' and 'Shaapit Hua' do manage to make a good impact. These two tracks should be harnessed to the fullest to help the album register good sales since there is still a month to go before the film arrives in theatres.

Hum Tum Aur Ghost (2010) Songs

Hum Tum Aur Ghost is a good album with at least a couple of numbers doing quite well - 'Dekho Raste Mein' and 'Banware Se Pooche Banwariya'. Since there isn't much time remaining for the release of the film (which would have a telling on the music sales as well), the need of the hour is to aggressively promote these two tracks to generate higher sales figures. It would be a pity if these songs go unnoticed.

Even without going through the credits, it wouldn't have been difficult to figure out that 'Dekho Raste Mein' is the work of Sankar-Ehsaan-Loy. A beautiful tune with a classy feel to it, 'Dekho Raste Mein' is one of the better tracks to have arrived this year so far. The 'mukhda' is highly addictive with both KK and Shreya Ghoshal thoroughly enjoying their outing. Javed Akhtar's lyrics too are sweet and simple while well conveying the emotions of a couple who have just discovered love. For a track like this, one does wonder if a 'remix version' was indeed required. However, the makers do believe otherwise and as it turns out, it is not a wrong decision at all, as evidenced in the club mood that 'Dekho Raste Mein' ends up creating. Wait, there is more. 80 seconds into this version and there is a slight 'bhangra' touch imparted as well with Arshad Warsi himself preceding it with his own rap rendition. Not bad!

Karthik Calling Karthik is upcoming romantic thriller, starring Farhan Akhtar opposite Deepika Padukone is directed by Vijay Lalwani. After a hit musical movie Rock On, Farhan Akhtar the producer (with Ritesh Sidhwani) is back with this movie. Hope it rocks when released on 26 February 2010.

The music of Housefull is composed by the trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who are know for their magnificience.. while lyrics are from Sameer.. I am expecting Houseful songs to be great as it's from SEL.. Though about movie seeing Akshay Kumar, I am forced to thing once again before thinking big.

I just could listen the first song 'Aye Khuda' and found it to be good.. I hope Paathshala has songs for kids, as we haven't had much of them in recent past.. BTW, music is composed by Hanif Sheikh.

Paathshaala is a upcoming film featuring Shahid Kapoor, Ayesha Takia, and Nana Patekar and is directed by Milind Ukey. The film revolves around kids set in a school campus. It comments on the Indian education system and its shortcomings. Kapoor plays an English and music teacher in the film. Hope this film is great.
